Jeff Erdly's masonry restoration business was five-years old when its turning point occurred in 1990 while he was attending an industry symposium on water in exterior building walls, which was sponsored by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). "I listened to speakers who really understood how the work could be designed properly and constructed well," said Erdly. "It opened my eyes. That's when I realized that the company couldn't simply go on 'just bidding.' The business couldn't grow on the old model it was using."
