Students in Lake Zurich will have another athletic diversion in addition to football, basketball, soccer and baseball.
Lacrosse, touted as the oldest sport in North America rooted in American Indian tradition, is coming to town.
Village officials are organizing a high school-age lacrosse team, the first of its kind in Lake Zurich.
"It started with the parents and the village just stepped in," said Chris Gantz, a seasonal village parks manager and the new head lacrosse coach.
