NAPLES -- Sixteen area high school girls and boys swimming and diving programs began embarking Wednesday on a district meet journey they hope will lead them to qualifying for the FHSAA Florida Finals next week at the Hall of Fame Aquatic Complex in Fort Lauderdale.
The four-day competition gets under way in earnest this morning at 9 here at the YMCA Norris Olympic Aquatic Center when Bayshore, Booker, Charlotte, Port Charlotte and Southeast are in the Class 2A-District 9 14-school event.
