Conspiracy theories are all the rage among some Democrats since Candice Brown McElyea's abrupt endorsement of former rival Katherine Harris in the District 13 congressional race last week.
Privately, they whisper that McElyea's campaign as a Democrat for the party's nomination was a sham, orchestrated with Harris' help.
They said their suspicions of McElyea -- she switched her party affiliation from Republican to Democrat late last year -- were confirmed when McElyea endorsed Harris, a Republican, instead of Democratic primary winner Jan Schneider.
