PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local GORO NICKEL S.A., a subsidiary of Canada-based INCO LTD., is finally gearing-up to undertake the development of a long-stalled nickel-cobalt mining project. In so doing, a contract award was recently awarded to a joint venture led by BECHTEL CORP. of the US that also includes TECHNIP of France. Likewise, HATCH ASSOCIATES of Canada is also expected to act as a subcontractor. According to the terms of the award, the consortium will be responsible for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction as well as construction management services.
