Who's the favorite in 2A football this year?
It used to be such a simple answer: Dayton or Amity. Those two West Valley League rivals have combined to win seven of the past eight state titles, including last year when Dayton ended Amity's four-year run as state champion with a 45-20 win over the Warriors in the final.

Yet as this season reaches the halfway mark, Dayton already has two losses and Amity has one. Both are ranked in the top 10, but they are at lower spots than usual with Amity at No. 5 and Dayton ranked 10th.
