The Emir of Qatar since June 27, 1995, when he deposed his father Shaikh Khalifa while the latter was on a private visit in West Europe, Shaikh Hamad personally contributes to the efforts of QP and its foreign partners in marketing Qatar's oil and gas around the world. Since late 1995, he has visited Qatar's client-countries and potential markets on both sides of Suez.
