PROJECT OVERVIEW:
US-based CHICAGO BRIDGE & IRON CO. N.V. (CB&I) was recently awarded a turnkey construction contract to build what are claimed to be the largest liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage tanks in the Middle East. And, the contract includes an option for 2 additional tanks. According to the terms of the award, CB&I will be responsible for the provision of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. Construction plans call for building 2 double-wall steel full containment LPG tanks. One tank will store propane and have a capacity of 125,000 cubic meters.
