A time-honored rite of passage has created the right of way for a burgeoning industry.
Weddings.
Annually, they make up a $32 billion industry nationwide.
It's' not just cake, flowers, bridal gowns, and tuxedo rentals anymore. The local wedding industry has grown to include Love Doves, a San Diego business that releases live birds at ceremonies; "The Wedding Show," San Diego's first radio talk program specifically about saying "I do;" and Panorama Balloon Tours of Del Mar that whisks couples high in the sky to pop the question or tie the knot.
