PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local AZZAWIYA REFINERY CO. (ARC) awarded a letter of intent to France-based TECHNIP-COFLEXIP for a planned refinery upgrade project in February 2002 but, the company later declined to submit revised prices. The contract was then awarded to LG ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION (LGE&C) of South Korea however, the firm terminated the award in May 2003. As things currently stand, ARC has now finally awarded the contract to UHDE GMBH of Germany.
