PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local QATAR ELECTRICITY & WATER CO. recently awarded a water desalination plant and associated power station construction contract to DOOSAN HEAVY INDUSTRIES & CONSTRUCTION CO. of South Korea. According to the terms of the award, DOOSAN will be responsible for building what is claimed to be the largest desalination facility that will have an installed treatment facility of 270,000 tons of seawater per day. In addition, the complex will include the installation of a 1,025 Mw power plant.
