Bahrain's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2003 was expected to register a growth considerably above the 5.1% increase reported in the previous year, in view of high oil prices. As world oil prices this year are likely to remain high, with April Brent having recently risen above $33/barrel (see Oil Market Trends of this week's APS Review), finance ministry experts anticipate another healthy GDP growth in 2004.
