The story of Frank and Lillian Gilbreth and their prodigious brood remains a staple of junior high school English classes to this day. Industrial engineers treasure the book as a look inside the home life of the couple widely considered to be the parents of industrial engineering. It wasn't long before Hollywood came calling, adapting Cheaper by the Dozen into the 1950 film of the same name starring Myrna Loy and Clifton Webb.
