PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local BHUTAN POWER CORP. LTD. is currently gearing-up to build a new 220/66 Kv sub-station at Pasakha Industrial Estate in Chukha, Dzongkhag, Bhutan. In so doing, the company recently awarded the consultancy contract to POWER GRID CORP. OF INDIA LTD. (PGCIL).
PGCIL, a state-owned company, employs a total staff of about 6,800. It is involved in the regulation and administration of utilities as well as being engaged in the telecommunications business. The company is considered to be the single largest transmission utility in the world.
