Andorra cap a la literatura (Colýlecciý sabent) - Book Review,
by Miquela Valls

From School Library Journal PreSchool-Grade 2 A heartwarming tale of friendship and love, reminiscent of the sentiments in The Velveteen Rabbit. ``Bear,'' wet, tangled, and earless, finds himself afraid and alone on an unfamiliar sandy beach after he is swept overboard by a stormy sea. When Sarah finds him, she lovingly takes him home and adopts him into her rather odd retinue of animals. Feeling loved and wanted for the first time in his life, Bear claims, `` `It's funny. . .I don't seem to want to go home anymore after all.' '' To which Sarah lovingly replies, `` `Oh, Bear, you are home.' '' The simplistic story is one of gentleness and reassurance for young children, stressing the ideas that one's ``family'' consists of those who care, regardless of their possible blood relationships, and that ``home'' is wherever one feels loved and secureimportant lessons in these times of oft-disrupted family life. The wet watercolor illustrations align well with the text and provide a real sense of atmosphere for the story. Although at times the positioning of some of the animals' eyes is awkward, the overall quality of the folk-style paintings is one of warmth and affection and contributes to the strength of the story's message.
