Frank collects 22 articles he has written over the past two decades on Hungary's connection to the two anglophone countries, most originally written in English and unchanged from their first publication. He argues that patterns of thinking relating to ethnocentrism, nativism, and nationalism persisted through and beyond East-Central Europe, the Habsburg Monarchy, and Hungary during the period he researched. His topics include Franz Boas and the anthropology of US immigration from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, censorship in Metternich's Hungary, and anonymous source cited by Karl Marx.
