Structural Masonry: An Experimental/Numerical Basis for Practical Design Rules - Book Review,
by J. G. Rots (Editor)

From Book News, Inc. Five contributors report on the Structural Masonry I project, which was undertaken by the Center for Civil Engineering Research and Codes from 1989-93 for the purpose of creating a basis for the development of practical calculation rules to promote the use of structural masonry in the Dutch building practice. The results indicate a need to come to a scientifically sound approach to crack formation and propagation, and crack snap that occurs through reflective cracking in structures of unit-like materials.
