Scotland over a span of five years, Lowe has captured the essence of the
Scottish links, the coastal areas and the towns of this wonderful country

Lowe takes us along the rugged eastern coast, from St. Andrews up to
Montrose and Cruden Bay and Royal Aberdeen, "from heather, whin and sand, to
points north," to Nairn and Dornoch. Then to the west coast, to Prestwick
and Troon. It's not only the courses themselves that Lowe illuminates along
the way, but the winding roads, the ancient villages, the farms and whiskey
distilleries, and the people who call this land their home as well. Each
step of his pilgrimage is given its due.
Interwoven through the photography are historical notes and observations by
David Joy. Maps and architectural

About the Authors
IAIN MACFARLANE Lowe is, simply, the most widely known and respected
professional photographer in Scotland. He is best known in this country for
his stunning photography in St. Andrews & the Open Championship (written
by David Joy). He resides in St. Andrews, Scotland.
DAVID JOY is a fourth-generation St. Andrean and an actor, playwright and
artist as well as the historian/author of St. Andrews & the Open
Championship and The Scrapbook of Old Tom Morris.
