Rising above Pornography - Book Review,
by Rebecca Lomas

Book Description Pornography is a highly profitable industry that has made its way into the things we value most--our homes, schools, jobs, and ordinary activities of life. Now we can become aware of how the pornographic culture affects our lives and relationships; and how we can rise successfully above this demeaning mindset, to free ourselves of its grip, and improve our lives significantly.
From the Publisher Pornography, prostitution, sex crimes against women. Our newspapers and electronic media never tire of sensationalizing these burning issues, which are an affront to every vestige of decency in modern society. The costs in terms of permanent psychological damage are mind boggling, and yet our efforts rarely go beyond paying lip service. Rebecca Lomas' well-articulated work brings to the fore the real issues behind the hype and points the finger at the media, too, for failing in its duty to create consciousness. This is a must-read for all people who value the dignity of our mothers, sisters, wives and daughters.

All of us want inner peace for ourselves and our loved ones. Yet pornography often leads to suffering: abuse, victimization, crime with imprisonment, addiction, and other personal tragedies. This social injustice degrades the human body, especially that of women. But people of all ages are being hurt by its effects.
