Martina Hingis FROM THE PUBLISHER
At sixteen Martina Hingis had reached the top - the world's number one ranked female tennis player with earnings in excess of $5 million. She was the youngest player in tennis history to reach such an earnings plateau and, in addition, was the youngest player to record wins at Wimbledon and the US Open. Her climb has been remarkably fast, and her cool demeanor and confidence on and off the court suggests that she will hold Top Five ranking for a long time. In spite of all of this success, this book reveals Martina Hingis to be a very normal teenager, who likes music, parties, clothes - all of the things that make her different (and approachable) than the average sports superstar.

FROM THE CRITICS
Library Journal
Gr 5-8-These are, at best, mediocre biographies. Because the authors' sources were primarily Web sites (many that no longer exist) and magazine articles, there is basically no new information presented on these figures. The dull texts on Jordan and Hingis read like high school term papers, and the coverage of the tennis star is a hodgepodge of jumbled information. Very little is available about Maradona, the retired Argentine soccer star, and Goodall does a respectable job of creating a readable book. All three titles have a few poor-quality, black-and-white photographs.- Barb Lawler, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, PA Copyright 1999 Cahners Business Information.
