Cat & Dog Theology: Rethinking Our Relationship With Our Master - Book Review,
by Bob Sjogren, Gerald Robison

Book Description There is a joke about cats and dogs that conveys their differences perfectly. A dog says, 'You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me, you must be God.' A cat says, 'You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me, I must be God.' This book challenges the readers' understanding of their relationship with God. Our understanding of how we relate to God may not be wrong, but it may be incomplete. The God-given traits of cats ('you exist to serve me') and dogs('I exist to serve you') can be similar to certain theological attitudes held by many Christians. In our personal theologies, some attitudes may draw us closer to God, and others can also pull us away from Him. This book will help the reader differentiate those attitudes, and, as a result, draw closer to the God who delights in them!
From the Publisher Dr. Gerald Robison and Bob Sjogren teach seminars on 'Cat and Dog Theology' worldwide.
From the Author The theme of this book is based on the notable differences between what may be two of mankind's (if not God's) favorite creatures: cats and dogs. Knowing that there are animal lovers of each, we hope that no one takes offense to our acknowledging the different traits of these beloved creatures, for certainly no offense is intended. Rather, we merely recognize that cats' and dogs' God-given traits can be similar to certain theological attitudes held by many Christians. In life, these attitudes are suitable in both felines and canines. But in our theology, some attitudes may draw us closer to God, and others can actually pull us away from Him. We hope you learn to differentiate these attitudes!
