Exotic Destinations for Wheelchair Travelers : Hotel Guide to the Orient, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand
- Book Review,
by Ed Hansen, Bruce Gordon

From Library Journal
Most libraries have a shortage of books aimed at the 8.9 percent of our adults under 65 whose disabilities restrict their work--or travel. Both these books are for the wheelchair-bound, but they are also useful for those who can't climb steps. Hansen and Gordon's guide presents each hotel in a standardized single-page summary, so it's easy to compare such things as prices, which vary from $15 to $310. But it leaves out major Asian destinations like Japan and hence is recommended only for libraries serving patrons who travel widely in Asia. In the Aroyans' guide, clear maps show routes for an amazing variety of boats; tables detail many ships by name; floor and deck plans are given for several vessels. Truly worldwide in its scope, this book is recommended for public, academic, and medical libraries.- Carolyn L. Stoddard, New Hampshire Technical Inst., ConcordCopyright 1994 Reed Business Information, Inc.
