Excerpted from Jim Church's Essential Guide to Nikonos Systems by Jim Church. Copyright © 1998. Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved The purpose of this book is to help you master the Nikonos V camera and the Nikonos RS (reflex system). The information and situations presented assume that you are using Nikon lenses and Nikon strobes. However, the same principles and techniques apply to non-Nikon equipment as well. We will go beyond the information provided in the Nikon owner manuals. Therefore, much of the information already covered in those manuals, such as nomenclature and specifications, has been omitted in this book. Some information, of course, must be repeated so clear explanations can be presented. Think of this text as a cookbook. Scan the extended table of contents. Decide what photo situation you wish to master, and then look up and apply that specific technique (recipe).
