Throughout his career there had been many tall tales told of John Holmes. Some of them John even created himself in the interest of keeping his private life a mystery. However, John knew that some day he wouldn't be around anymore and this was his last chance. He left many cassette tapes and writings behind, hoping that someday his fans would know exactly who he was and how he came to be something that over 20 years ago had no place or title of being. However, after 30 years since his first film and having starred in over 2,000 additional films, John Holmes is undoubtedly the King of Porn.Following the horrific experience of my husband's passing, and the event's that took place directly after; I became very disenchanted with people and society as a whole. I withdrew inside myself, figuring that people were only going to believe what they wanted to believe anyway, so it didn't matter. The other society in which I never quite fit, I was struggling with more than ever. About the Author
John Holmes died do to complications of AIDS in 1988. In putting this book together, he knew it was his last chance to set the record straight about himself and his life. In 1997, John was awarded a life-time achievement award from the X-Rated Critics Association for his outstanding contribution to Adult Entertainment. His young bride,Laurie Holmes added new material but for many years held back on publishing it because of mixed feelings.
