Contemporary Issues in Socio-Economic Reform in Zambia

In 1991, the people of Zambia voted to change their government from the pro-socialist United National Independence Party to the liberal, if amorphous, alliance of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy. Eight contributions address political, social, and economic trends at both the local and global levels that led to the change.
