Ethnic Perspective on Economic Reform: The Case of Estonia

Following an introduction surveying the existing literature, sources, and methodology, this study reviews Estonia's privatization legislation and other related legislation. A series of statistical investigations are provided to illuminate the consequences of privatization for the Russian population. Statistical research is presented in small- and large-scale privatization, the private sector, the shadow economy, privatization of dwellings and capital ownership, income, unemployment, and poverty and welfare, followed by discussion of the overall situation.
