Cambodia - Book Review,
by Manufactured by Lucent Books

From School Library Journal Grade 5-8-A well-written and well-organized overview of the country's geography, turbulent history, culture, religions, people, and government. The textual sidebars, highlighting places, people, and culture, are interesting and informative. The black-and-white photos are not visually enticing but the color cover photo of children riding on an elephant through the streets of Phnom Penh is a draw. There are three maps: one showing the geographic boundaries of its Southeast Asian neighbors and major cities of Cambodia, another showing the Mekong River, and one of the Khmer Empire 889-1434. A useful resource for reports.Diane Olivo-Posner, Long Beach Public Library, CACopyright 2003 Reed Business Information, Inc.
