To the Moon!: The Honeymooners Book of Trivia - Official Authorized Edition

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Jackie Gleason's beloved Everyman character from Cavalcade of Stars, loudmouth bus driver Ralph Kramden, was the seed from which one of the most eduring television sitcoms of all time would grow. The Honeymooners, which started as a sketch on Cavalcade, grew to become one of the most popular- and today is one of the most syndicated- shows ever broadcast on TV. Now, in celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of the birth of the show, Honeymooners fans can test their television IQ with this challenging and hillarious collection of more than 100 quizzes about Bensonhurst's best- loved foursome.

Do you know the full birth name of Art Carney? What are some of the more amazing properties of the Handy Housewife Helper? Can you name the Honeymooner who was born in China and spoke English as a second language? And if someone were to walk up to you on the street and give you the opening lines of the Racoon Lodge marching song, would you be able to warble out the rest?

Illustrated with hundreds of black-and-white photographs of the now legendary show about Ralph, Alice, Ed, and Trixie, this heartwarming volume filled with thousands of multiple choice questions, word scrambles, fill-in-the-blanks, and much more will enchant and confound readers as they warm up "the ol' soup bone," rack their brains, and try to come up with more than a "mere bag of shells."

About the Author

John Katsigeorgis is a lifelong fan of Ralph, Ed, Alice, and Trixie and is also the nutcase responsible for what has become the most traveled-to Honeymooners site on the web. The native New Yorker was weaned on endless reruns of the quintessential sitcom about the city, a diet that finally drove him to create his website in 1996. As soon as he went legit and became a successful scuba instructor (though he is not the first member of his family to take a dive for a living), John was able to convince someone really nice to marry him. Together, he and his wife live happily in Queens, not far from the Bensonhurst neighborhood that Ralph and the gang continue to haunt on the small screen.

SYNOPSIS

Think you know a little something about what life was like in long-ago Bensonhurst? This hilarious book will test your TV IQ with more than 100 quizzes about the misadventures of Ralph, Alice, Ed and Trixie. Included in the pages of this richly illustrated tribute to the fiftieth anniversary of the birth of the show are thousands of word scrambles, fill-in-the-blanks, multiple-choice questions, and much more. Sow warm up "the ol' soup bone," hoist your copy of To the Moon! The Honeymooners Book of Trivia, and see if you've got what it takes to survive the mean streets and sewers of Honeymooners-era Brooklyn.
