Nymphing Strategies - Book Review,
by Larry Tullis, John Randolph (Preface)

John Randolph, Editor, Fly Fisherman Magazine This is the best and most thorough nymphing and wet-fly instruction that I have seen in print.
Book Description Fishing with artificial nymphs is one of the most effective methods for taking trout with a fly rod, but also one of the more difficult techniques to master. In Nymphing Strategies, longtime guide and expert trout angler Larry Tullis explains the techniques needed to master this challenging facet of fly fishing. Topics covered include: natural aquatic nymphs and methods for collecting them and learning their habits; why nymphing is one of the most deadly ways of taking trout with a fly rod; detailed descriptions and illustrations of the various species of aquatic nymphs, including mayflies, caddisflies, stoneflies, midges, and more; other subsurface trout foods such as crayfish and worms; feeding habits of all trout species, including brooks, browns, rainbows, and cutthroats, and how each can be taken by nymphing; tackle, rigging, and techniques for successful nymphing; choosing the right fly for the situation at hand; nymphing in stillwaters. (5 x 7 1/2, 152 pages, color photos, color illustrations, diagrams, charts)
