Alex Rodriguez
- Book Review,
by Jim Gallagher

Book Description
A biography of the Seattle Mariners' power-hitting shortstop, Alex Rodriguez.

From the Publisher
Baseball might, in fact, be the great American sport, but its fans come from all over the world. American teams have benefitted through the years from Hispanic talent. Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic have all grown awesome baseball talent. Some Hispanic youth learned to play with a stick and a borrowed baseball. Some played in overgrown fields; some played in the street. Many others grew up in the United States able to participate in their communities' organized sports or on school teams. Wherever their humble beginnings, Latinos have contributed to the development and the enjoyment of baseball in the United States. It is only fitting that we pay tribute to our contemporary Latinos in baseball.
