The Iron Heel

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Written in 1908, this visionary novel about class struggle anticipates the political upheavals of the thirties and beyond.

SYNOPSIS

Written in 1906, the story takes place in 1914 when a ￯﾿ᄑsocialist￯﾿ᄑ revolution breaks out in the United States. The beloved wife of Congressman Ernest Everhard from Berkeley, California, the prime character of the novel, records the intrique and action in her diary. The diary is found in 2715 and fills in the forgotten past. This book is a classic Jack London political adventure story and gives us in the present a look of why it might take another 800 years of darkness in the United States for itself to progress to the reality stated in the principles of the Declaration of Independence - life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
