About the Author
Thomas E. Mails, a former Lutheran minister and architect, has for thirty years published essential books on Native American culture, several written at the invitation of tribal spiritual leaders, including The People Called Apache; Dog Soldiers, Bear Men, and Buffalo Women; Sundancing at Rosebud and Pine Ridge; The Cherokee People; Secret Native American Pathways, Fools Crow; Fools Crow: Wisdom and Power; and Hotevilla. His classic, Mystic Warriors of the Plains, was a primary resource for the film Dances With Wolves. The Kwahadi Dancer Scout Troop of Amarillo, Texas is building a museum that will feature a room displaying Mr. Mails' extensive collection of resource materials, paintings and artifacts.
