About the Author

DeThomas, a business consultant, has been associated with the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Georgia Small Business Development Center and has worked with many small business clients over the past 15 years. He has also helped large corporations, such as Lotus, develop programs for emerging companies. A popular lecturer, Dr. DeThomas has conducted more than 100 management training and business workshops. He serves on the editorial review boards of several publications, including Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice, and Journal of Economics and Finance. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance and has taught business finance subjects at the college level for the past 20 years, currently serving as Professor of Finance at Valdosta State College's School of Business Administration in Valdosta, Georgia.
