Illustrated History of Canada FROM THE PUBLISHER
The Illustrated History of Canada is the first comprehensive, authoritative one-volume history of one of America's closest allies, our neighbor to the north. The text - from seven of Canada's leading historians - and the pictures - hundreds of engravings, lithographs, cartoons, maps, posters, and photographs - together create a sweeping chronicle of Canada from its earliest times to yesterday's news.
Now fully updated to bring readers into the last decade of the twentieth century, this new edition includes contemporary material on such topics as the aftermath of the Free Trade Agreement, the constitutional crisis, the rise of the new political parties, and the Quebec referendum. Now, more than ever, The Illustrated History of Canada is a must-have reference for all Americans interested in the history - and the future - of Canada.
