Book Description Banff is one of Canada's most famous towns: an urban jewel in a magnificent mountain wilderness setting. However, Banff is also home to many secrets and stories. More than just a guide to the many trails, sights and attractions in the town, this book is also a fascinating look at the incredible, multi-layered history of Banff - including its legends, its myths and some of its most interesting characters. This book has many exciting features, including complete color maps of the town and its suroundings, a recommendation section for visits from half a day to more than a week, a full listing and recommendation section for every season and every interest, and finally, amazing behind-the-scenes contemporary and historical stories.
From the Publisher A complete, world-class guide to one of Canada's most famous towns. Long awaited and in great demand, this book will appeal to residents and travellers alike, as well as to anyone interested in the life and times of an amazing, western Canadian destination.
From the Author It's a blending of history and contemporary using architecture and place as a way to tie into both of those elements...I definitely feel like I know [my great-grandfather] better after having done all the research. And that's a lot of fun...[Banff] is an evolving community that continues to represent Canadians and how they relate to their environment.
