The irrepressible Sally Dog Little is back.

The Littles are as formal as ever. Sally Dog rises each day, knowing exactly how to please each member of the family. But when Twinkle shares her When I grow up dreams with Sally Dog, that sets Sally Dog to thinking.

Sally decides she'd like to be an undercover agent, and so begins her new career. She spends breakfast incognito, spying on the silly secrets behind the Littles' formal morning rituals.

FROM THE CRITICS

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot

Sally Dog Little is very happy just being a dog. She does listen to Twinkle who every day seems bent on a new career. First she wants to be a pilot, then a ballerina and finally an undercover agent. That gets Sally's attention and she tries her hand at being a secret agent. She observers everything around her and, using a patter that follows "This is the House that Jack Built," Sally observes "how the dog catcher secretly stalked Doily who secretly stalked the cat who secretly stalked the robin who secretly stalked the worm that slithered among the pink petunias." She brings it all to an abrupt end and decides that being a dog is what she likes best. 2003, Annick Press, Ages 4 to 7.
