About the Author Tirrell J. Paxton is a bankruptcy attorney and certified public accountant. He has held positions with the accounting firm Ernst & Young, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and the national law firm Piper Rudnick. His work experience gives him a unique perspective on investing and financial planning. As an auditor of a Big 4 accounting firm, he has examined publicly traded companies from the inside. Based on these experiences, he explains in layman terms how to perform company evaluations. Additionally, he draws on his experiences with the SEC to describe stock market fluctuations. Furthermore, as a law clerk for a bankruptcy judge and bankruptcy attorney representing corporate clients, he learned how to identify healthy and unhealthy companies. He shares these insights during his lecture. Mr. Paxton has combined his experiences from accounting, finance, law, securities enforcement, and bankruptcy court proceedings to empower ordinary people to invest wisely.
