About the Author
Monte Burch has been a full-time free-lance writer, book author, illustrator, and photographer since the early 1970s. He was the creator of the Sunday comic strip, "The Good Earth Almanac" in the 70s. Over the years, Monte has written thousands of articles and sold photos and illustrations to many outdoor, how-to, gardening, and general purpose magazines. He is the author of over seventy books. Monte and his wife Joan live on a beautiful farm in the Missouri Ozarks managed for wildlife. It is here where they both work writing and photographing as well as enjoying hunting, fishing, and observing wildlife with their much-loved children and grandchildren
