PreSchool-Grade 1-Line-and-crayon drawings in soft tones depict a multicultural cast of cartoon children enjoying a day at a country golf course. Park animals, including a bluebird that appears on every page, creatively assist, but are less successfully rendered than the cheery golfers. The authors use simple sentences in large type for beginning readers, who may be forgiving of the lack of plot. James and Lauren Smith live in Northern Virginia with their three young golfers. James is a PGA professional and golf instructor at Fair Oaks Golf Park in Fairfax, Virginia. James has been featured in USA Today as one of the country's top teachers. He enjoys teaching the youngest of golfers with the primary goal of keeping the game simple and fun.
