A Basic Guide to Writing, Selling and Promoting Children's Books: Plus Information about Self-Publishing - Book Review,
by Betsy B. Lee

Book Description This has basic details about writing children's stories, selling to publishers or direct sales, promoting, and self-publishing. ISBN and bar code resources are listed for self-publishers as well as a wide variety of other print and online resources. It was created as a teaching and review text which allows time for critiques of students' stories and articles in eight week writing classes and writing workshops.
From the Author On March 22, 2000, I enjoyed introducing my new book to "The Enchanted Forest" presented in Atlanta, GA, by Southern Breeze at their Springmingle Conference. Southern Breeze is the AL/GA/MS region of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. The book covers much basic information, has numerous resources, and is priced to move. It sold very well to this group of writers and illustrators.
About the Author Lesson plans from the author's ten books are listed in the ERIC Online Catalog (Educational Resource Information Center), on the author's website (Learning Abilities Books), and other websites. Her stories and articles have been published in magazines, websites, and educational software. She teaches classes about writing and selling stories written for children. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and she is the moderator of The Authors and Illustrators for Children Web Ring. The author has worked as children's writer, a school psychologist, a school counselor, a rehabilitation counselor, and a newspaper writer.
