About the Author
Luna B. Leopold is professor Emeritus of the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of more than 180 publications including six books. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, The American Philosophical Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and has received numerous awards and honors including the National Medal of Science.
