About the Author
Dudley Pope was a distinguished naval historian. Discharged from the British Navy during World War II due to his injuries, Pope became the naval and defense correspondent at the London Daily News. He was the author of ten scholarly works as well as the eighteen books in the Ramage series. Pope was all but anointed by C S Forester as his successor, and ardent readers of nautical fiction have confirmed the wisdom of his choice. Pope died in 1997.
