FROM THE CRITICS
Library Journal
This retrospective look at the printmaking activities of the late Abstract Expressionist painter Motherwell is the third, expanded edition of a work previously published in 1980 and 1984. This edition includes an introduction to Motherwell's art, interviews with important collaborators, and a catalogue raisonne of his graphic work in every medium back to 1943 (over 100 new works completed since the last edition have been added). A biographical outline of the artist's life and a list of all his exhibitions is appended. With the exception of a series of book illustrations, which are too small to be properly appreciated, the book is beautifully bound and printed. Recommended for large art collections.-- Stephen Rees, Bucks Cty. Free Lib., Levittown, Pa.
