One of his original illustrations will be added to the Mazza Collection, which is the first and largest teaching gallery specializing in the original art of children’s picture books. In interviews, at book store appearances, and in public programs, Warren shares his insights and anecdotes about his work, and invites conversation with his audiences. He is always a welcome guest on radio and TV because of his comfortable and engaging personality. Warren makes over 200 appearances annually, including radio, TV, church and school groups and special events. A graduate of Augustana College in his home state of South Dakota, Warren received his art education at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, MN. Warren and his wife Patty have been married for 31 years, and live in St. Paul, where he works from his home studio. They have two grown children, Cody and Lacey. *On his business card, right under Warren Hanson’s name, it says “illustrator, author, amateur.” As an amateur, he goes back to the word’s Latin root, which means “someone who does something purely for the love of doing it. “ Warren Hanson love what he does. And it shows.

The Next Place

ANNOTATION

An inspirational journey of light and hope to a place where earthly hurts are left behind.

FROM THE PUBLISHER

The Next Place is an inspirational journey of light and hope to a place where earthly hurts are left behind. An uncomplicated journey of awe and wonder to a destination without barriers.

Lose yourself in the uplifting sense of comfort and serenity. Embrace the joyful spirit of oneness. Then pour yourself into the lives of those you love.

The Next Place is, above all, a celebration of life. Hear the music. Feel the warmth. And be carried away along life's everlasting flight.

FROM THE CRITICS

Children's Literature - Dr. Judy Rowen

The author's musings about heaven, or whatever you might call "the next place" that one inhabits after this life, are presented in arcs of text superimposed on tranquil collage illustrations. The overall sense is one of peace. No specific religious allusions are made. However, his statement that "the body I once lived in won't be part of me at all," may cause some Christians discomfort. The book might be reassuring for children facing the loss of someone dear.
