About the Author William F. Cass is a suburban Philadelphia business executive who spent his college summer vacations as a member of the Philmont Scout Ranch staff. His wife, Sarah, teaches history in the West Chester (PA) Area School District. They are both graduates of Washington College in Maryland. They have two children, Holly and Will. Mr. Cass is an active Scouter in the Chester County Council, B.S.A. He has served as a Scoutmaster and Jamboree Director, and is currently High Adventure Chairman in his council.
