Cops Don't Cry: A Book of Help and Hope for Police Families SYNOPSIS
Vali Stone's book takes us from laughter as a police officer is forced to issue his own wife a speeding ticket to tears as a child dies in an officer's arms. Outsiders find it hard to fathom the emotional roller coaster that these men and women and their families ride on a daily basis. Cops Don't Cry answers the urgent need to educate officers and their families about the joys and pitfalls of this kind of dynamic relationship. Vali's book deals with the real issues that face officers and their families on a regular basis: shift work, communication breakdown, children issues and fear. Spouses agree that law enforcement officers grapple with the real-life horrors on the job and that the bitter belief that 'cops don't cry' is sadly untrue

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
I would like to support Vali Stone's realism and easy style. Her book can be a catalyst to promote self-awareness and dialogue in families and divisions AND does begin to clarify expectations for new officer-families. (Nancy Hopgood
