FROM THE CRITICS

Home and Garden Remodeling Guide - House and Garden Remodeling Guide

Barns, Sheds and Outbuildings is a facsimile of an 1881 book of plans and instructions for building barns, poultry houses, piggeries, carriage houses, dog kennels, bird houses, smoke houses, and root cellars, and it is illustrated with hundreds of charming drawings.

CoEvolution Quarterly

Though the book is intended as an instruction manual of basic designs, I found it reasonable to sit right down and read the whole thing through as if it were a novel, which it sort of is. The pay scales are a little off for today's labor market, though; a dollar a day is what they paid then.
