FROM THE CRITICS
School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-A brief, readable introduction that hits upon some of the highlights of the country. The two-page ``Fact File'' omits such data as major cities and their populations, ethnic groups, important products, average temperatures, and holidays. Leahy also presents very limited information on education and daily life. Some of the places mentioned in the text either do not appear on the full-page map or are listed under different names. At least one attractive, full-color photo appears on each page. This book could supplement Wilbur and Esther Cross's Spain (Childrens, 1985) or Arthur Miller's Spain (Chelsea, 1989), but it doesn't replace them.-Ann W. Moore, Schenectady County Public Library, NY
