FROM THE CRITICS
School Library Journal
Gr 5-7-- These three volumes provide an interesting introduction to the world of fashion. Profusely illustrated with full-color photographs, they have a conversational tone, and the texts are interspersed with direct quotes. In Fashion Designer, Moss explains how many designers got started, how fashion shows are organized, and how studios operate. In Fashion Model, hard work is emphasized over glamour. Fashion Photographer traces the early history of the art, discusses practical aspects of getting started, and covers the fashion shoot. Most books about fashion run the risk of becoming dated, but a good mixture of different (and often offbeat) styles make these offerings less susceptible than many. A solid, informative series that will be welcome in most libraries. --Lori A. Janick, Parkwood Elem . School, Pasadena, TX
