My Alternate Life - Book Review,
by Lee McClain

RT Book Club Magazine An absolutely refreshing read. McClain writes realistically about fashion, cliques, teenage sexuality, and what happens when you're 15 and desperate.
Amanda Roberts, Romance Reviews Today A truly heartwarming story that incorporates the humor and irony of life with serious issues.
Book Description This fast-paced teen novel tells the story of Trinity B. Jones, a tough foster teen trying to survive life in a snobbish suburb and find a way to reunite with her birth mom. "Trinity stands up and lives on the page: gutsy, vulnerable, street-smart, people-smart--okay, just plain smart, a survivor with a heart," says award-winning author Nancy Springer.
From the Author What if there were a magic computer game that showed foster and adopted teens what life would have been like with their birth families . . . and gave them a chance to switch over? That's the question behind MY ALTERNATE LIFE and the rest of the ALTLIVES books. I know adopted and foster-care teens often struggle with identity issues and dream about living different lives. And as an adoptive mom myself, I sometimes wonder what my daughter's life would have been like if she'd grown up with her birth family in China. Writing MY ALTERNATE LIFE, MY ABNORMAL LIFE, and the rest of the ALTLIVES.com books gives me the chance to explore this very emotional territory.
From the Inside Flap Did you ever wish for an alternate life... -Where your attitude, leather, and mega-brains fit right in? -Where guys knew when you liked them ... and when no meant no? -Where your birth mom wanted you back? Thanks to a mysterious computer game, urban tough girl Trinity B. Jones has the chance to live her alternate life. She just has to prove she can make it in this one first.
